Default Sebastian Inlet Fishing

Guys I live in Boca and my friend lives in Orlando so we figured we would meet in Sebastian to do some fishing this weekend.

I have an 18' KW so going out to the Gulf Stream is pretty much out of the question, but I could do inshore or close off shore fishing.

Any Reccomendations would be great. Love back water snook/red/tarpon or close in reefs for Yellow Tail, Kings etc. Let me know what you guys think the weather is suppose to be good this weekend.

Also any reccomdations on boat ramps and bait shops would be great. I was thinking of Mac William Park and Profesional outfitters both in Vero since I have used both of those before but if you guys know of anything better let me know.

Default Re: Sebastian Inlet Fishing

I was down there last summer and went into wabasso bait shop for info. The guy was very friendly and gave sound advise. I would go there again for bait and tackle. I used whatever the name of the state park is at sebastain inlet. It's on the south side of the inlet and it was nice accomidations. It's literally minutes from the inlet as your looking at the inlet when you enter the park. As far as hotspots go all I can reccomend is buying a chart at the baitshop and picking the guys mind for a minute. I was after mahi if I could find them and got the info from the bait shop that they were hit or miss that time of year about 25+ out but to definately go load up on bait under the bouy south of the inlet. I couldn't catch bait under the bouy because I was feeding 3 or 4 cudas that found my hooked bait quite easy to catch but in hind sight I should have just changed plans and cuda fished for a while because the area was ful of bait. I trolled frozen ballyhoo instead offshore and had several short strikes but no taker's the next day I trailered to jupiter and found the mahi I was after and only about 4 or 5 miles offshore! 3rd day I traveled accross the state to port st. lucie for 5 more days of miserable life as I have a small offshore boat and the area is SHALLOW. I'd of loved st. lucie if I'd have taken my bass boat instead!
