Default Waterfront Boca Raton Restaurant

Any recs for restaurant with dock access for 35 Intrepid that is Family friendly as I will have the whole crowd from 3yo to 10yo. Will be staying in Palm Beach and doubt the younger kids can make Ocean ride to Ft Laud and then ditch ride back north even with old faithful portable DVD player. THought Boca would be a nice distance and a beautiful ride for the wife. Any help greatly appreciated....Ben (This would be just a day trip.)

dockers in Davie is good I couldn't tell you how to get there by water but it is just south of the ft lauderdale airport on n federal highway. they have a killer bacon cheeseburger and try the hawaian wings to. I eat lunch there everytime im in the area. They have a marina behind it with some decent sized boats so I would imagine you could find some dockspace to tie up while you eat.

Try the Cove in Deerfield Beach... Not expensive... I'd call on dockage first..

You may want to reasearch it first to see if it's what you want..

Cove is your best bet. Great ambience and docking - food has gone downhill so order wisely.
I actually worked there 25 years ago!

And its been going downhill ever since.

What about heading north to Jupiter/NPB - Waterway Cafe, Panama Hatties, Jetty's, Crab House?

This is by far your best bet, there is a serious lack of waterfront restaurants from WPB to Boca, Lauderdale has lot's but that is a haul from Palm Beach for the day.

If you go north.
Banana Boat and the one Next to it which I can't remember the name.
Also if you go a little further up to Latana - Key Lime House is very nice.

The Cove is a good choice for family and friends. Like Wiley said, good ambience and decent docking. Be careful though, on Friday and Saturday nights I think they have live music and big crowds since they renovated. Call ahead to verify.

*Wiley, my wife grew up down there and that was her hangout. You didn't TOUCH her, did you!

I love it down there!

We used to enjoy the Sands on the east side of the Intracoastal just north of the Atlantic Blvd Bridge in Pompano Beach. Not fancy, good for burgers and drinks. Lots of waterfront scenery. There used to be a Houstons just across the ICW from the Sands too.

What is the time distance between The Cove and Waterway Cafe by Intracoastal? I would imagine it's a good 4 hours?
Add another 30+ minutes if your boat has to wait for the Camino and Delray bridges.

I promise I only touched myself!

I used to live about 4 blocks from there. Was a great area in the 80's! The Cove was small back then and you used to be able to wear swim trunks and a tank top to Happy Hour. I had a huge collection of free drink chips too!

If considering the Waterway, I would leave the kids home & go to the River House or Seasons 52. They are located on the north side of the PGA bridge.

IMO Waterway is mediocre food.

Riverhouse and Seasons 52 are definitely more upscale. Need to call, we couldn't get a table at Seasons 52 last couple of weekends and that was calling a week ahead. Better get to Panama Hattie's or Waterway before they turn them into condos! People at our marina are always talking about Two Georges (assume I got that right), think it's in Boynton??? Jupiter to Boca by the ICW is a mightly long haul......

We took a friend by Seasons 52 on a Friday night and it was beyond crowded. Reminded me of the old Wildflower Boca scene of years ago. Two Georges is popular, again if you're not going for food quality.

It is a long drive doing 65 with the boat on the trailer.

Starting Friday the ICW speed limits going down to Fort Lauderdale speed up again making the trip reasonable. If you go down there try Shirt Tail Harry's (I think I got that name right, if not somebody will correct me).

One in Delray, Calypso, and one in Boynton Beach whcih is excellent and a little upscale is Prime Catch.

I never had good luck with the food quality at the Cove!

The restaurant across from the Boynton Banana Boat is Two Georges.

Since he's starting in Palm Beach the run north isn't as bad as heading south.

Delray......you have Old Calypso on the east and Busch's on the west.
Better dockage at Busch's, better food at Old Calypso.
Wiley.....Wildflower?? That place brings back some most interesting memories.
