Default Harris Chain in May

Greetings:

We've rented a home on Little Lake Harris for the month of May to do as much fishing as we can in 30 days. Anyone have any experience on this chain? I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks

Default RE: Harris Chain in May

I live in the Leesburg area. I don't fish fresh water though. I can give you some places waterside to go.

1. Hit the Dead river canal between lake Eustis and Harris and dock at either of the restaurants near the bridge for drinks and a burger. (Dead River Vics and the smaller place on the Eustis side)

2. On the big lake there is a little place called Little Joes Hideaway in the bay west of horseshoe island. Haven't been in a while but it used to be popular.

3. Beach on Monkey Island in the Venetian Gardens area and have a picnic.

4. Hit Lake Eustis and Amigos for some good food and drinks.

5. Cruise the Dora Canal and make your way to Downtown Mt. Dora for a walk around.

I've heard they catch stripers trolling in the Dead River Canal but I've never done it.
