Just an updated local report. Fished out of St. Lucie inlet last Friday, trolled for sails and wound up with 2 dolphin in 120 feet. Two local tournaments yeilded record sailfish numbers. One boat had 34 releases. There also have been reports of Cobia showing up. One boat landed a 60 pounder and another boat had 10 (4 kept and 6 released as there is a 1 per person daily bag limit). The bait of choice in this area is usually greenies and/or sardines. If you get out the inlet around 730 am, you will usually find a cluster of boats on the bait. It tends to move around, so I would talk to the guys at Finest Kind which is next door to Sailfish and find out the latest info. Sails have been plentiful and last week the cobia showed up. Thanks for the information. We just got back from Sailfish Marina. We raised 7 sails, 4 hook-ups and one release. Caught our first sailfish, a nice wahoo and a dolphin.
