I am recieving fishing reports from guides on Lake Okeechobee on a regular basis. The guides are reporting catches of 20 to 40 fish a day and on occasion MORE on live shiners, spinner baits and on a new bait from Zoom on the surface.. ( Its a frog with 2 floppy legs and I can not remember the name of it to save me)
Despite reports from some Biologist for the state the lake is in fine shape. Reports that over 1 million bass died during the hurricanes is false. I have no clue who reported that in the Tampa Newspaper but it is NOT true.
I have reports from one guide that the Shellcrackers are starting to move shallow onto the beds if you like panfish.. and crappie in the Kissimmee river are great. One fellow tells me he goes out and catches 25 a day.. all he wants to clean.. and they average 1.5 to 2 pounds.

ALSO Stick Marsh and Farm 13 are also producing some great limits of fish and many fish over 8 pounds. Crappie are biting good, and shellcrackers should start to bite soon.
