Default Need Advice - Fishing the Suwannee River - Live Oak, Fl

Heading down there Wednesday and was wondering what would be biting if anything. Planned on taking the fly rod and would like to narrow down my fly selection. I imagine I'd be casting from shore or wading. Taking a kayak is still up in the air.

I appreciate any input!

red bellies, small (Suwanee) & large mouth bass. Couple friends fished a tourney this past weekend-not much going on. They were south of you though. Bass bite has been pretty slow for some reason lately according to them.

We took the kayaks the weekend before last and did really well on the red bellies. Beatle spins, the black ones fished really slow worked the best by far!

Good deal! Thanks a lot guys! Getting some bugs and light leaders organized and heading out tomorrow morning. Staying till Sunday morning so if anyone is in the area, let me know.

Watch out for the mating Sturgeon jumping out of the water. 200 lb fish that can do some damage! Their are warning signs throughout the river. Several boaters have been injured! IVO Chiefland
