Might you be refering to the Marist v. Pius X game on Fri night? Moved from Maine down to ATL a couple of months ago and have a strong connection to the War Eagles.

If so, interesting coincidence.

Welcome in 27outboard. Marist vs Pi Hi? That is an old time Atlanta showdown between two of the original catholic schools in Atlanta. Was really big in the 60's and 70's but became kinda lopsided in the 80's in Marist's favor. Pi Hi has made it competitive again in the 2000's. My brother and I graduated from Marist and I have 3 sisters that graduated from Pius. When I went to Marist ('71 grad) it was an all male military school.

The big discussion going on around here is SEC football, including this weeks Georgia vs. Auburn game, and Florida vs South Carolina. Should be good games and I hope the Forces of Good (GA) defeat the Forces of Evil (whomever GA is playing).

I am going to try and get up to what's left of the lake on Saturday. Several projects I need to get started on including touching up the teak and bottom paint on the boat. Should be at the "top of the hill" where the boat sits on the trailer. We did get the dock moved out and it seems to be OK. Several of the Xmas trees I placed around the dock are now high and dry. Not many fish on them anymore.

See you at the Boat Show.

Mike,

Count me in...though I'm currently boatless and will be for some time it will be interesting to go the show.

Bob...thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to an exciting game tomorrow night. If you're at all active in the Marist community I'm sure you've met my wife. She heads up their fundraising and alumni relations efforts...promise I won't shake you down for her at the show!

Look forward to meeting you all.

Hi guys,

I'm in for the show also if I'm not if FL, which is where I am right now. I'll know my Jan. sched. later on.

I'm down here for the last UM game in the ORANGE bowl. (More orange color, Bob) The school is recognizing the history of the stadium and inviting all former players down for the game. My dad played in the very first game in the Orange Bowl and my brother and I played in the stadium in high school and college. He went on to play there a few times as a pro and even won a Super Bowl there with the Steelers. The UM is leaving a lot of history behind with their move to Dolphin stadium.

Enough about that. What's really important is the wind is blowing like crazy and I can't get out fishing with my friend on his boat. The seas were around 10 - 12 feet a few days ago. Maybe it will calm down next week and we can get out. He has a new 33' Hydra Sport w/3 250 Yami's on it, should be very nice.

Welcome to you guys who just joined us on the forum. We have an Atlanta THT boat roster if you guys would like to be on it. I will look back through this thread and find the page with the request for info on it and let you guys know what info we need. But for now, Go Canes!!!

Bo

The info for the boat roster is on page 37 of this thread. As I said, I am out of town right now and will be back next weekend so I won't be able to send you guys the updated boat roster until then.

I stopped at Kayak Venue(Clarks Bridge) to look the ramps today.....

2 and 3 are closed and ropped off.

Lane 1 has about four linear feet of ramp in about 12 inches of water.... too shallow for me....... there appears to be a drop off on that as well; more bass boat soil blow-out. I'd call it closed....

Adam,

If you are referring to the UM game, yes, it was painful to watch.

No, I think if you look at Adam's 'Hailing Port" he is talking about the UGA / AU game. How 'bout them Dawgs!

Bob,

That would make sense on AU. I was pretty busy that whole weekend and didn't hear too many scores from other games.

Does anyone have the web address for the corps site that has info on ramps that are open at Lanier? I haven't run my motors since the TN river cruise and I try to run them at least once a month in the cooler part of the year.

OK folks we are down to ONE ramp left open on the entire lake. Tidwell Right has 4.4 feet another foot or so and that will be closed.

Thanks for the info on the ramps. I may have to run the motors from the hose at my storage facility, or better yet tow the boat to FL.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We're headed out of town today for the NC mountains.

Yes Tidwell has one ramp open, but I went by there Saturday for a look and found that ramp has trees / stumps coming out of the lake all around it. never would have guessed they were there until this year. At least the COE or somebody had done some grading around the two closed ramps to fill the drop-offs at thee ends.
