Brian,

I've been kinda hit and miss on the forum the last month or so and I didn't know you were getting a new boat, Congrats. What did you get or what are you looking for?

Most weekends except holiday weekend are OK at our dock. Next weekend is still good. What ever you guys want to do. If we want to wait until Brian gets his new boat that is fine. Another option would be to meet at Dockside Grill or somewhere like that on the lake one evening.

Bob,

How about this Sat. May 21, early afternoon? It's a good time for me. I will be leaving for the N.C. mountains after I put the boat up so 1:00 pm would be a good time. That will give me time to use the boat a little and get to the mountains. If that is OK with you guys then Bob you can put out the invite on this thread, since it's your house. If ya'll would rather wait until Brian gets his new "ride", that's OK too. By the way, where is the Dockside grill, is that the one at Lanier Harbor? There's another grill at Starboard Marina, I think. Is that it?

Boat's in the shop right now getting part of the 100 hr. service done and repairing a fuel quantity problem. It should be out by Fri. so I should be OK on Sat. Any of you guys know anything about Bradley Marine Service at Habersham Marina? That's whose doing the work. Thanks.

Bo

Up the Creek is the restaurant at Starboard Marina...was good in the past...then was closed for awhile but is open again...have not been back yet.* The restaurant at Lanier Harbor was not open last year and from the looks of it, doesn't appear to be opening this year either.* Personally, if you want a good hamburger, Aqualand is the place to get it.

I'll know in the next day or so where I stand on the next ride...if the broker and I can come to agreement, I will sea trial one day next week and pick it up the weekend of 6/3-6/5.** I'll keep everybody posted...

As for this Saturday, its not great for me....I am in the middle of a 4 city trip that doesn't put me back in ATL til Friday night late (actually I am through ATL changing planes twice but thats another story)...if ya'll get together that's fine...we'll have another get together and I'll show off the new one...

Bob...I'm looking at another walkaround...gently used of course...

Bokat - don't know anyone who has used Bradley...Boating Atlanta does most of my work but I am sure they are stacked up right now and I know you need a quick turn before the trip.

This Saturday is fine with me. You all are welcome to stop by if you wish. For Brian's sake we can get together again several times over the summer at my dock if you want to. The directions and location of the dock are posted somewhere on this thread but if you need more info let me know.

Dockside Grill is at Holiday. Run by the same group that has the resturant at Aqualand. Same menu, just a little more activity and some of the cutest waitresses around.

Bokat - I checked with my brother who is and has been in the boat business for about 20 years around Lanier. He said that Bradley Marine is one of the best on the lake. In fact he just had his boat over there. Said that "Yank" is the guy to ask for. Boating Atlanta is tops also. You couldn't go wrong with either one.

Bob,

It looks like it will be a small, informal get together for sure. I will swing by Sat. about 1 pm if Bradley's gets the boat done by Fri. If they don't, I will let you know on this post as soon as I know and we can re-plan this and a few other get togethers. We might even be able to make up a small Grady get together some day. Thanks for the info on the repair shops, I did talk to Yank.

If you want to post or PM me your phone number I can call you also. Whatever is better for you. I am flying turn arounds to Mexico City Tues, Wed, Thurs this week so I will be in and out of town for the next 2 days. I will look for the directions to your place on this post later in the week when I get some time.

I'm going to try and sneak out of work on Wednesday morning (25th) and get the boat in the water. If anyone is going to be around send me a note. I would like to meet some of the THT folks.

Brian,

Good luck with the survey. Is the boat on Lanier? If it is on Lanier or in Atl area, who's doing your survey? Do you still plan to keep it at Hammonds or are you giving up your spot?

Look forward to seeing the new boat!

Bob-

Its not on Lanier...actually, its in FL.* I have seen pics but have not yet seen it in person.

Its going back into my slot at Hammond's...although the length is likely to pose a problem....may have not a choice but to move to North Lanier or Weaver...Hammond's new area with bigger spaces won't be done for awhile...

Glad to hear you guys got together...the weather was beautiful...

Spent the weekend on the "honey-do" list...figured I'd get them out of the way before the new boat arrives...

Bo, what kind of trouble?*

I need to move my boat to a new storage location, any suggestions? Right now I keep it on the trailer, uncovered. I live on the Lawrenceville side of lake Lanier.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

There are a wide variety of locations available. I would first establish what I wanted - how close to lake? Covered? Price? Shop? Boat Wash? Launch Ramp? and so on. My favorite has always been Lanier Harbor. It offers launch & load, wide ramp, and many amenities. It is on the upper end of the price range but still a good value.

I called them this morning. Sound like a great place but a unfortunately out of my price range. Most likely I'm just looking for a place that is close to a public ramp or has their own ramp and water available to clean the boat on the trailer after I pull it out. Looking for somewhere close to Friendship Road.

Whats your price range?

Most of the places get in excess of $50 a month now....there seem to be more on the west side of the lake (Weaver, North Lanier, Hammonds, Adma)...

All are covered, with security gates and hoses for washing out.* I think Weaver has a pressure washer as well, but not positive.

Bob,
I was just looking through the string and saw where your location is. My group always anchors at one of the two islands in that cove. Usually we are on the west side of the south island. You probably have seen us many times. I was at the island by Shady Grove this past weekend.

I hope to get out Wednesday night this week to grab our spot before the crowds show up. It should be a crazy weekend. I love to sit on the beach there and watch show go by.

I am in the Carver Mariner...come by and see us sometime.

Later,
Joe.

Lakebum, think I saw your group this weekend. See the same group of boats around on most weekends. You probably saw my son running around on his Waverunner this weekend riding in circles trying to break-in the new engine. Stop by sometime, we are just around the corner.

Parthery - Congrats on the survey! Time to bring the boat home to GA.
