Bokat - 2/21/2005 11:51 AM Hey, Lake Lanier guys, Anyone going to the lake tomorrow, Tues. 2/22? I haven't been out since last month sailfishing in Fl. I have to re-wire a GPS antenna that broke on that last trip. I might do it tomorrow and then put the boat in the water. I know there is a possibility of rain but I've gotta get out. I'll look for a post later today and be on VHF 16 tomorrow. Call Bokat if anyone is up there. Bo
I'm looking out the window at a beautiful day...wish I was there.

May try for the weekend...weather supposed to cool off but then warm up again.

Yes, it was a nice day. My wife even said she wished she had blown off what she was doing and come with me. I worked on the boat until about 2:30 then put it in the water and stayed out till sunset. There is a lot of junk in the lake. Maybe by this weekend it will have washed up on shore. I ran back up in Flat creek to see what was happening. Plenty of birds and plenty of boats fishing and marking plenty of bait or fish but nothing biting. I pulled an umbrella rig through there a couple of times but nothing. Do you guys know if any of the baitfish in the lake will bite a sabiki rig? I always wondered that.

I just found out I can mount my GPS antenna in the cabin instead of the roof. I wish I had known that when I initially installed it, it would have saved a lot of work. I tried it on a temporary setup yesterday and it works fine. I've just got to figure out how to mount it in the cabin of my walkaround so it is out of the way. Does anybody have any ideas on that - materials, hardware or location? I'm looking for suggestions. Later.

Bo

Splashed today....the water is a brisk 49 degrees and the wind was blowing pretty good, but the lake is full and the boat ran good.* Topped up the gas tank in preparation for the $.25/gal increase which is apparently imminent.* Also had a chance to steal the admiral's new Durango and try it out as a tow vehicle.

A couple cats made a home underneath my cover in the last month or so...no damage but paw prints everywhere...got some serious cleaning to do.

Bob...spun past your dock but didn't look like you were around...

Brian,

My son has spring break this week so he and I went down to New Smyrna Beach and went fishing last weekend. We may try and go up to the lake this weekend before he goes back to school on Monday.

We got in late last night and I have not even checked the weather to see if it is worth the trip up.

Glad to hear the boat is running good. Good idea about topping off the tank!

Parthery,

Do you live on the North side of Atl? I've recently moved back and saw a Grady like yours in the neighborhood. Was wondering if that was you?

I'm in a neighborhood off Old Alabama.

If you saw it there over the weekend then it was me

My neighbors don't mind it*in small doses...as long as I promise to take them out come summer.

You live in my neighborhood?* Where do you keep the Mako?

I'm at 9095. I won't be an official resident until after the Wedding later this spring.

The Mako is in Charleston until next month. I'm going to get it over Spring Break and then I have to decide where I'm going to put it. We have a small Cabin at Hartwell and covered storage up there is dirt cheap. I have a small window of time in a friends warehouse in Dawsonville. I'll use that time to finish putting her back together for spring.

See you in the neighborhood.

"Congratulations" in advance from your neighbors at 9150 *

Can recommend a decent secure covered place off 400 at Exit 17...$35 a month.* About the cheapest you will find up on Lanier.* Let me know if you want their information.* Your timing will be just about right...most of those places have vacancies in the summer but fill up quick in the Fall.

I'm in Vanns Tavern boat storage. Jack and his son, Larry own and run the place but you won't get in unless you know someone in there who can give you a rec.

Just another bump to the top...

Any of you guys go up Easter weekend? I was up all day Friday and until about 10 am Saturday morning. Mainly worked around the house and dock. Weather was perfect. Left a couple of lines out with minnows around the dock and caught 6 bass ranging from 1 to 2 pounds.

On my way home I noticed a Grady headed north on 400 behind a white Suburban. Was that any of you guys?
