Well, just got "Bob's Cay" back on her trailer! Touch up the spots from the pads, give her a good bath, and I'll be back in the water. Right now I am planning on either Monday or Tuesday. If all goes well I'll spend a couple of days up there next week and also New Year's weekend.

Tireless - talked to a buddy of mine today about a warehouse. He owns a building in the Vinnings / S Atlanta Road area that has been vacant but he has recently leased it. They will be doing tenant upfit in the building for about 4 to 6 weeks. He is going to check with the new tenant & GC to see if they mind if you use a corner. As I suspect, the main concern will be security and access on nights and weekends. He will let me know ahen he gets back after the Holidays. He is also going to think about other buildings that maybe available. I'll keep you posted.

Bob's Cay - that would be outstanding. I live in Buckhead and that place would only be a short hop for me. Thanks for asking around.

Hey Brian - Did I see you with your boat over the last few days? I think it was Monday morning on the access road between Chamblee Dunwoody & N. Peachtree. It was a Black Tahoe and what looked like your boat.

Hope everybody had a great Holiday. Still waiting to get my boat in the water, just have had a couple of scheduling conflicts but I think it is ready to go.

David, I will know more about the warehouse space after the first and my friend gets back in town. Turns out we might be doing some of the subcontract work on the project so I have been in touch with the GC. Hopefully we can make this work.

Happy New Year

Bob

Bob...that was probably JiminGA...he also has a black Tahoe and he lives over in that area...

I'm high and dry at the moment...went up there yesterday to take advantage of the 62 degree day and found that both of my 3 mo. old batteries were dead. When I took them back to Boaters World and we started investigating it turns out that the batteries were over a year old...had been "reconditioned"...and sold as "new"when I bought them in September. They were somewhat embarrassed and refunded my $$$ no questions asked. Came home and was going to order AGMs from Cabelas but they are on a 6 day delivery cycle and I want to run the boat this weekend. Headed to Costco later today...they have the AGMs there, as well.

Weather looks good for later in the week and the weekend...Bo..let me know if you still need that extra set of hands....

Just pulled the boat and trailer out of shop. Hope to take it to the lake tomorrow, weather permitting. Turns out I have to go to south Georgia to visit wife's family Friday, but still shooting to be up there Saturday, Sunday, & Monday.

Weather at the lake was great today. Bob, I went by your place today and saw a boat in the "house" with a Yamaha on it, I guess you got it back in the water. I installed a livewell pump today and, of course, had to put the boat in the water to see if it leaks. No leaks.

Brian, I didn't know Costco had AGM batteries or I would have gotten them there, I just ordered two of them from Cabelas, should be here some time next week. I also ordered all my thru hull fittings from Gemlux.com and they should be here next week also. I could use some help when they come in. Bob and Brian, are you guys available on weekends only from here on? If so, I will plan accordingly.

Tireless, I haven't got any more leads on a warehouse for your boat work, sorry. Good luck on finding something. Hopefully Bob will find something. You guys have a good New Years, see ya'll next year.

Going to try to get up there Monday if the weather cooperates...

Wow!! I see how REALLY visible a THTer is in ATL!!... Yes Bob, that was me pulling our GW228 on the Dunwoody access road. We were on our way to Hilton Head for the week and to give the boat her first "salt water bath". Was a great experience for whole family. Got a chc to really learn handling in tidal currents around the dock, navigating the ICW, adjusting tabs/trim for best ride in heavier seas, etc. The boat gave us a surprisingly good ride in 2 to 3s in Port Royal Sound after we tweeked tabs and speed. We did get a few pix and I'll post them soon. We're already planning trip back in late May targeting the cobia run we learned about from the marina asst. mgr at Skull Creek.

Question for the THT gang... It would be great to try to get a group toigether fot the boat show.. maybe hit it during the week so we avoid crowds ... any ideas on a good day???? ... I'd be able to get away late afteroon. How about it Brian?

I'm going to start a separate thread for the boat show...that way our Atlanta brothers who don't follow the Lake Lanier thread (Schmaltz-Herring/ Reel Boobs/ Tireless, etc...) won't feel left out

Brian and Bob,
My batteries and thru hulls came in one day this week while I was out of town. I'll find a nice weather day and let you guys know about helping with the thru hulls. Thanks again for the offer.

Looks like a nice day for the lake tomorrow. Anyone going up? I will be going up in the afternoon. I am going to work on the boat for a little while then go out and maybe look for some stripers, anyone interested?

Anybody know of any good Minn Kota Dealers around the area? There's a guy back in SC in Chapin that sells em' and also sells the Reman'd units, I finally got permission to go get my trolling motor this week, and I'd like to get it quickly w/o having to drive to Columbia. BTW, me and the wife are going out w/ Shane Watson's Guide service tomorrow, any body fished with them before?? Im hoping to get the new wife excited about fishing.

Bo, hope your fishing day was more productive than mine. I went up Saturday and went out midday. Found fish at the entrance to 4 mile and had several to chase the bait around but not takers. Think the trout may have been too big, they were about 10" long.

Robby came up later in the day and we spent Saturday night up there watching football. Went back out about 10 and fished the same area without results. My friend took delivery of his new Hackercraft on Thursday so we went over to see it. Man what a beautiful boat!

After that we came back to the house and sank some Xmas trees around the dock. Guess I was out of there by about two so I guess I missed you.

See you guys Thursday at the boat show?

Good job, Walden75. I guess it takes a guide to catch those things. Bob, I didn't get out on the lake until about 4 and back in about 6, no fish. I tried to replace the one thru hull that broke while I was running my new cables, it's in but not very tight. I guess it's going to take two people to install them, anyway that's why I got out so late....installed new batteries and that one thru hull. I went up into Flat Creek and saw plenty of bait on the FF but nothing biting. I was using artificial shad bodies and a jig with a curly tail but no luck. I was going to run by your place but I didn't have much time. Sun. sure was a beautiful day. See ya'll Thurs.

Bob, I am a late person. It's easier to stay up late when you don't have to get up early and go to work. How did I ever do all this and work too? Where does the time go?
