Hi Guys, Been out of the game for a while but I am about to take delivery of a Fountain 32 CC (no trailer) and I need to dry rack it somewhere on the Hall County side for a few moths while I rig it out before I take it to Savannah. It has never had electronics installed. Any ideas who could handle a 32 with T-top? Gainesville Marina says up to 25 foot and a few others say the same if they even offer dry stack.
Thanks, J

Fished today. Pulled off one striper that was a really respectable fish. I would have liked that photo. We did land one spotted bass and will get that photo up as soon as I get the pic uploaded. Both on white chipmunks.

I'm looking forward to poking around up there some this winter.

Draggin,

Pokin' around on the lake in the winter is a lot of fun. The traffic is non-existent and the fishing can be great. Good job on finding fish since the move down!

Got a late start this morning, bad move on Labor day weekend. The lake was really stirred up from all the boat traffic and wind. Tried down lining blue backs for stripers - but it was just too rough to say over the fish, the baits were dying and certainly not looking "natural" as they were getting yanked about by the bobbing boat. Gave up on Down-lines and put the downrigger to use --- got on some fish just off the main channel down by the dam.

I started out with a 1/2 ounce white chipmunk (bucktail) jig with white curly tail, wasnt having any luck so I switched to a 2 oz green and blue bucktail with a blueback paddletail.. put it 80 ft back off the ball and the ball down 25 ft at 2.5- 3.0 mph, that was the ticket! Lately, the downrigger has been the way to go, last 4 striper have come off the downrigger. Earlier this summer, I was catching everything on live baits downlined.

almost forgot, I was using an 8lb down rigger ball, and was trolling an area right off the channel out in front of young deer and moving toward the dam.

Jim,

I hope you are leaving a few fish for the rest of us! Were you fishing just off the mouth of our cove on Saturday? Think I saw you out there. I was on the porch watching the GA. game. My brother stopped by with his boat so walked down the dock once.

I was at the lake all weekend and got a bunch of little projects done. What perfect weather. Did get out and troll a bit Sunday morning but didn't have any luck.

Saturday afternoon I beached my boat and switched out the anodes on the engine. While doing that I managed to knock my transducer out of the break away mount. Did not realize it until Sunday. Tried getting in the water and snapping it back in but there is a small piece that locks it in place that I could not find the location for in the water. Guess I am going to have to get the trailer out and get the boat over to the ramp for what i hope will be about a 10 minute fix. What a pain.

Hey Bob, Yes that was me and Angie. I was going to stop by but it looked like you were having a family get together and I didn't want to interrupt. If you need some help moving the boat or trailer I'd be happy to help as well. Can you believe how fast this summer has shot by?

Jim & Brian,

Thanks for the offer to help move the boat. I may take you up on the offer. Waiting to hear back from Garmin on how the pieces go back together. If is just snaps in I may have another go at it in the water with a mask this time. Hate to go to all the trouble to get my trailer out for about 5 minutes at the ramp to pull her and drop her back in.

Again, thanks for your offer. I'll keep you posted.

Bob

Default One Thousand Twelve Hundred Horsepower

Did anyone else see the very large (35' at least) CC blue hull with FOUR 300 HP outboard engines across from Aqualand on Sunday afternoon? Overkill or maybe horsepower envy were my first thoughts but that's to be expected from someone with one 115 HP hanging off his transom. Harv

P.S. I was unable to edit title so consider it a "new" math number... a correct title would have been One thousand "TWO" hundred Horsepower

Default Bob's Cay Transducer

Bob, before you go to all the trouble of taking your boat out of the water why not bring the boat to my dock and we can put it on my lift (capacity 4000lbs) and use the paddle boat to examine your transducer. No mask needed nor do you get wet. PM or call me to set up a time to meet. Harvey

Harv,

That's a great idea and a great offer. I am up there alot so just let me know when might be convienent for you.

I have seen that big blue CC before. It does look out of place up at the lake. I also saw a Bertram 35 this weekend coming in Holiday. It looked great and the diesels sure sounded good. The guy had the boat decked out with big Penn's in all the rod holders. While it looked out of place all I can figures is the rods were stored in the cabin and he had nowhere else to put them. Add this to the big Viking that is up there and we may have to start adding salt to the water.

Harv - In the Soundings magazine that came this week there is an ad for Seaway. The picture of the boat looks just like yours. Even the guy at the helm resembles you.
