Yeah, Robby now has his "own" pontoon now! It came from Lake Windward and had electric motors. A friend of mine had bought the boat to get the slip. Gave the boat to Robby. He (and his fraternity brothers) have had a blast even with the electric motors. Of course his free boat immediately cost me $900 for a trailer! It has been fun working on the boat with him and watching him learn some new things.

my sister was at the lake Sunday and said i just missed you guys coming by. Robby and I had run up to the lake to store the old motors in the lakehouse garage.

Hey Brian,

Got the boat back from Bay Marine yesterday. Spent most of the afternoon cleaning and getting it ready for HHI next weekend. It's nice to have the new garboard drain in and the seal kit on the steering is all done. GW engineers confirmed that the drain issue must have been stray electrical current when she was slipped - now if I ONLY could figure out which marina it was!

Anyword yet on the offer you made on the 225?

Jim,

Because its a repo, its an auction. I made an offer and now have to wait to see if its acceptable.

I do have a $1974.36 bid to move it from Newport Beach CA to my driveway.

I also have a deposit on the 180.... so things are getting interesting....

had a change to get her wet today in the lanier, drove down to FL to pick up a brand spanking trailer and with a friend's help I swapped the trailer this afternoon. What a difference in trailering.

i am one of the guys that shook of the cobwebs last weekend. Went out Saturday for a few hours - some trolling a u-rig and some just cruising. Boat ran well. FYI, the water temp was about mid 40's and i did not see a single fish busting on the surface. Saw one bird dive but most were just sitting. I was at Holiday between 3 and 4 and saw several hundred birds on a dock roof as usual. Our dock is fixed (again) so it is great having easy access to my boat. Spent most of Sunday up there taking care of a few house clean up projects.

Jacob, a good trailer is worth it's weight in gold. i saw about a 1.5 to 2 mpg increase when I got a new aluminum trailer. You will enjoy it.

Hope to be able to spend more time up at the lake this spring so ya'll stop by if you are out.

Gents, Hadn't been over here in a while. Sold my Mako in 07 and have been restoring another one since so I haven't been on the lake. I plan on that changing as I just picked up on 01 Shamrock 246. It has been out of the water for 2 years which leads me to my question.

Does anyone have an inboard mechanic that is good, thorough, honest, and affordable? I live in Maysville close to 85 so I would need something on the north east side of the lake. Thanks and I hope to meet some of you on the lake.

Yep, general service. Was not used last season and is new to me so I want a thorough tune up and inspection then I need to spend a couple of days with a buffer. I already have two project Makos so I didn't want to turn any wrenches on the shamrock. My six year old said to me when I brought this home "Daddy, you're not going to take this boat apart are you?"
I owe it to them to get on the water this year.

HAHA, yea i know the feeling, everyboat is a project, and as soon as you run out of things to do to it, you get bored with it. I am constantly looking for things i can do to mine!

Looks like a good weekend might be on the way. i am probably headed up sometime tomorrow (FridaY) for the weekend. Robby will be in town and at the lake with a friend (and his project boat). Sure that will keep us busy.

Stop by if you are up.

Picking her up tomorrow to see how she runs. I won't be out long becuase i need to take it to get cleaned up early afternoon. Going to have it compounded and waxed. Next weekend I plan on getting my gear loaded and really running her. The mechanic said she runs great. I can't wait. Next weekend also need to swap trailers and get them adjusted. The "factory" trailer is maxed out and that is a major issue with me. Cheers, dodge

Went out today thinking today was going to be the "best day of the weekend". Man was it cold out there today. I need an enclosure for the CC..... Pretty good day out on the water though. Went up to Holiday to walk around the dock of Singleton Marine Group (old JOA docks). They have a 46' Cobalt up there that is next level!!! Granite counter tops twin QSM 11's. Said it was shipping to California next week. BEAUTIFUL BOAT!!! They also had a brand new Marquis 50'. TRIPPLE IPS DIESEL's $1.4 Million!!!!!!! If you are up there you ought to stop in and take a look!!!!!! Don't know who would put a mil plus boat on a lake but sure was pretty!!!!!

I was only out there for 15 minutes to see how she ran after tune up, that wind was brutal and my eisenglass was so dirty I had to peek around it...chilly. Next weekend I should have a clean ride and really get a chance to burn some old fuel.
