Cool. I am going to take a peak at the weather and try and get to the lake this weekend. I have gathered some Christmas trees that are waiting to be sunk under the dock. Used to do this every year but stopped when the lake level dropped.

Where is it? I have been hitting the tree drop off at Home Depot. But most of them have closed down and all the trees are chipped up.

you know what is a good benefit from the lake being so low was I was able to learn so many new fishing spots that had been setup. I could not believe all the habitats I found when it was down.

Jacob, that might be a bit far for a Christmas tree! Now as far as the location - they will be under or next to my dock. Not too hard to find. It is posted somewhere in this thread or just PM me and I will give you directions.

Scott - Thee was a company at the boat show selling videos of the lake taken with the lake level low. It was pretty interesting but expensive. The "Pro Package" with the entire lake was around $1,500. I did not spend too much time looking at it after I heard the price. I was able to mark several standing trees with the lake down including some not far from our dock.

Anyone going to the Miami Show? I think Jupiter Jim said he is going. Anyone else? Maybe we should go fishing on Friday?

Default Boat Storage 400 side

I'm back from a long break from boating (4 years). Brought home a 2005 Pioneer 197 Sportfish last weekend and I need a place to store it on the 400 side of the lake.

I've read about afew places around around hammonds crossing. Any reccomendations for covered on the trailer storage would be greatly appreciated.

Boat has a T-Top so clearance is 10'6" on the trailer.

Glad to be back.

I'm headed down to the Miami Boat Show on Sunday 1/14 and Monday 1/15. Should be interesting to see what kind of deals the last day of the show brings.

Welcome back...you still live in our old neighborhood?

Before I moved to the land of non covenant restricted keep your boat next to the house on a gravel pad nirvana I used to keep the boat at Hammond's. At the time, she had very limited space for boats with T-tops or hardtops, and this is why I subsequently moved out of there. Now, she has a large uncovered lot that would be the ticket, assuming you have a cover for the boat.

I spent one summer at North Lanier Storage and after a mudslide left my boat and JiminGA's sitting in 6" of red clay, moved out of there. They can accomodate a hard top, as can Weaver. Not sure what the going rate is for storage, but I bet its north of $100 a month.

PM me when you head for the lake...if it breaks 50 tomorrow I may go....

Yes, still in the old neighborhood.

Didn't get any flack for pulling in with the boat at Midnight Sat and letting it sit in front of the house most of the day Sunday. (got a few nice boat comments actually)

The boat needs a Lanier shakedown cruise. You know how hard it rained Sunday and today is "less than ideal". I've never bought a boat and not had it in the water within a week!

If I go I'll let you know.

I usually head down to FL in Feb, but recently changed positions (same company - different job), and unfortunately I'll be traveling in February for work. Will have to miss the Miami boat show. Hope those that make it to the show have a great time.

I did get out on the Lake last weekend just to add some stabil ethanol protection to the gas.. and run the treated fuel through the lines really well. Probably trolled around for an hour or so. It was sure cold and windy.

Hammonds is by far the best bet. for the money you could save parking it there uncovered you could by a nice cover for it then no worries...

Sure has been dead around here.

I ended up going to the Miami Show on Monday. Stayed about 4 hours only at the Convention Center. Show was pretty quiet and like Atlanta I would say that the exhibitors were down 25%. It might have been more, but the show did a good job of hiding vacant spots. The Scout Abaco 350 was best in show to me. It was a knockout.

On my trip to Florida I picked up a 1986 45HP Mercury outboard that Robby had arranged to buy. He has been dying to take the electric motors off his pontoon and get a gas outboard. Spent last weekend working with him to remove the old electric engines and mount and hook up the outboard. Started right up. Robby took the boat back to Clemson and is just waiting for a little warm weather.

One of the recent storms snaped a cable at our dock and then broke the hinge on the walkway at the shoreside of the ramp. Ramp is now under water. The dock repair company has been out a couple of times but say they will be there today to hook it back up. We'll see. Until then my boat is kind of stuck out there.

maybe I'll get a chance to run up there this weekend. Weather looks a little better.

Bob...Jim and I took a spin past your dock on Sunday and noticed that it had worked itself loose...

I thought the pontoon had an older Johnson on it...or did Robby find something else.

I make take a ride up Sunday if it gets into the 50s...
