welcome to Sarasota.

you shouldn't be afraid of newpass, there's plenty of water....stay to the south side of the marked channel and you'll be just fine. you actually want to be close to the sunken sailboat with the mast showing. Head to Alan Fischer reef for the first trip. Watch the no wake zone....the police love to patrol that area.

After you're comfortable with new pass, head out to M5/M6. The best fishing starts 3-5 miles past M6 in my opinion.

Welcome: Look for us on vhf channel 68, were on the water most weekends and usually hang out in the cove at New Pass.

Hey Doug,
Hope all is going well down there. Find any good fishing grounds yet? The October run is on, and the Bass are hitting the deck. That's if you can get your bait down past the blues.
Give my best to the family and let me know when you find the big ones.
Regards,
John @ Great Bay Marine
