I will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale in about two weeks for a one day business trip in the Pompano Beach area. I have the option of which day I fly. If I were to make a weekend of it what would be available in the way of a charter fishing trip that would not cost me my first born? What type of fishing would it be? What type of fish could I expect to catch? What else is in that area to see or do? I will be traveling by myself if that makes a difference.

In Pompano Beach you'll find quite a few charters at the Hillsboro inlet -- from big SFs to drift fishing outfits (Fish City Pride, Hellen S etc.).

Go there and take a look at the boats and rates, then pick the one you want.

Or you can take a party boat out of Haulover marina, they provide bait and fishing pole...for about $25 for a half day trip.
