Default Great Harbour Cay Fishing

Making our first trip to that area around the middle of April. We plan on hitting the pocket one day and then tuna canyons another if the weather cooperates. Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.

We usually bottom fish over there. Actually the bottom fishing is so good we stopped marking spots on the GPS as we take great delight in motoring around in 55-80 feet watching the sounder. Go out around Coco Key on a falling tide. Get out around 100 feet and turn around and head back in. Watch the sounder for structure (It's all patch reefs) then when you get over the sand drop anchor and break out the chum. You will eat well that evening.

Default Weekend Bahamas Trip - Destination??

Running across this Thursday through Sunday looking for tuna and some bottom fishing. We were originally planning a Walkers area trip, but with the wind forecast out of the south, then west and then north are considering the Berrys for access to the pocket and NW Providence Channel.

We were expecting typical spring easterlies, but are now wondering where would be best:

THURS: SE 12-17 KTS BECOMING SOUTH 9-13 KNTS
THURS NT: SOUTH WINDS 8 TO 13 KNOTS
FRIDAY: SW 8-12 KNTS BECOMING NW 10-14 KNTS

We were in Great harbor two weeks ago. The fish didn't know we were there so early. So we didn't catch much. Great Harbor is a great place to fish from. Plenty of fuel and dockage. On your way back fish the Gingerbread grounds for Yellowtail if you have the time.

A Whitewater 32 would be the ticket for that trip.
