Are you looking to rent a boat, or hire a charter? If boat rental is what your after, here is a place 20 miles up the road http://www.bigpineboatrentals.com

Try the head boat in Garrison Bight, it's a cheaper way to get on the water...

Heck Birdman.............I'll ask for ya. Come on guys, anyone down there in the Lower Keys can take these young men fishing? And he's looking to have his vet buddy catch some fish too. Gotta be one of you old farts down there could take these guys out.

Birdman, my old man would have loved to take you guys out. He lived on Duck Key (half way to Key West) and was a Marine too. But he passed a couple weeks ago If no one steps up on here, I'd take my buddies and go stop in a VFW hall. I've been to many Sunday breakfast's in the Marathon VFW always talking fishing with his buddies. I'm betting you could find a boat ride pretty quick. Just stop in and have a beer and let the bartender know you'd like to get out fishing.

Good luck,
Brett

man im just about to give up on the whole fishing thing down here...everybody tries to hustle us like tourists, all i can do is pay all fuel costs and bring my avets and all my gear...... and if someone is really that greedy we will pay them 100 on top but whatever.... im not going to pay 550 to go 10 miles offshore

Go to Conch Republic and get a Mahi sandwich, almost the next best thing. Sorry to hear you guys couldn't get hooked up.

Go to BO's fish wagon next to the Half Shell, ask for Buddy Owen. He should be able to hook you up with a ride.
