boat clubs good or bad? - The Hull Truth

I am seriously thinking of selling my center console and joining freedom boat club. Does anyone have pros and cons????????? i will be moving to ft.lauderdale area but my business is still in ny so i will be doing alot of traveling back and forth

I believe in sharing a boat! BUT.....

But it seems like boat clubs just don't work out all that well because you always end up with crappy boats. Like the good one are always gone unless you had the foresight to reserve a nice one 3 week ago etc...And, I think folks beat the snot out of the boats and then turn them (treat them more like a rental), this becomes your headache.

I'd recommend sharing OWNERSHIP of a boat with someone though.... because ownership means that the others will take care of it like their own (since they also "own" a portion of the repair and maintenance)?

I mean....I drive the CRAP out of rental cars, and I bet Freedom Boat Club members drive the crap out of those rented boats too.

Thanks ,I will go and check out some of the boats hopefully that gives me a better idea
