Default Sea Tow orBoat US?

I searched and read a few threads and decided to post local and ask which is better off the coast of Pinellas. I'm a Boat US memeber and insurance holder so that has some bearing. Everyone says use the provider with the best concentration in your area. Lets hear some local opinions.

We've had both. Have BoatUS for towing and insurance now. Their one tow for us was about 10 miles out. They were there in 45 minutes. I've waited longer for AAA....

We are north of you off Hernando County and the tow came from Hudson.

I am the owner of the Sea Tow Tampa Bay franchise servicing the area from Indian Shores to the south end of Egmont Key and all of the Tampa Bay waters. I have been a licensed Captain and working for Sea Tow for over 17 years now. This franchise was the 2006 Franchise of the Year recipient and continues to provide the same great service to our customers that have won us numerous other awards.

I have a six boat operation with four towboats in the water ready to service at any given time. They are located in the Johns Pass area at Lighthouse Point Marina, south St. Petersburg/Pinellas Point area at Loggerhead Club and Marina and the downtown St. Petersburg area at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. I have a fifth towboat that is on a trailer and can be launched anywhere in the area as needed. This helps when multiple jobs happen at the same time in a specific area or if we have someone disabled in a location pretty far from our towboat’s location like the Alafia River or Hillsborough River. On special events days/holidays we have a sixth towboat that can launched as well.

Sea Tow Tampa Bay has been servicing customers in the Tampa Bay area since 1990 and we are call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Should you have any other questions please feel free to call us at anytime.

If you are looking for information about Pinellas County north of Indian Shores then you would need to contact Sea Tow Clearwater/Port Richey.

That is funny you ask because I was just asked if I was related to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy who evidently has the same last name as well. No relation to either that I am aware of.

FWIW: All my buddies use SeaTow and not one of them has a bad thing to say about SeaTow. A few have even had their collective butts saved by SeaTow.

Personally, I'm a bit surprised they make money. The fee is (IMHO) very reasonable, and, when you consider how much it costs to buy/operate a commercial boat, captain it, fix it, depreciate it, etc. Hats off Captain Shute.
