Default Great Harbour Marina, Bahamas

Has anyone cleared in at Great Harbour Marina? Is deisel typically available there? We're planning to run from Ft Lauderdale via the Providence Channel to do some fishing on the way. Which leads to my next question. Is it a problem to be fishing in the Bahamas before you've checked in?

Technically you are not supposed to fish until you have cleared. If you are coming from FTL why wouldn't just clear in bimini then top off your fuel as it will be cheaper then cut across north rock and up on the bank then on to Great harbour?

Don't fish until you have cleared; Waddill's advise is fine or you can check in at Bimini, then go up to Great Isaacs and fish New Providence over to GHC. You'll love Great Harbour; plenty of diesel there.

What about gas? I've read gas can be scarce from time to time there. We are heading over on April 14 out of Lauderdale checking in at Bimini.

Plenty of gas and diesel, Joe Dargavich is the harbor master and is super friendly!! The marina has been really cleaned up since he took over last year!

They're doing a much better job getting fuel to the island on time. 4-5 years ago things were spotty at best.
