Default mosquito lagoon, cocoa beach charter

I will be taking my family to Orlando this Summer (July or August) for vacation. I have two boys (ages 11 and 13) that love to fish. I was planning on taking them for a day or two of saltwater charter fishing while staying in Orlando. It appears that Mosquito Lagoon or the Cocoa Beach area might be the best bets. Any suggestions for a good charter captain? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Default The Lagoon

I recommend Capt Jon Lulay. http://www.2castaway.com/

I've been fishing with him four times. He knows the area really well. He has a great attitude, and busts his butt to get you fish. Two of the times I chartered with him were in the winter, which is a tough time to flats fish, especially if the wind is blowing. Even those trips turned out to be fun.

I just rode by that area running a boat down to FL from NE. I wanted to stop and fish but that 53 Defever was not going up on the flats :-)

Here is a fish Jon put me on one morning at sunrise...
