Any suggestions for boat rentals in Jax?? Would like to go fishing with my Pops. Looking to do some intercoastal / jetties fishing -- 17 - 22 footer. Thx.
There's a boat club at Palm Cove Marina. While you would normally have to be a member you should try them, saying your are returning military on leave, and would like one for the day, and see what they say.
Other than that your best bet may be St Augustine since that is more touristy. There is Raging Water Sports at the Conch House that have some skiffs etc. Here is their web site.
The other way to so this and have a better chance of getting on some fish is to hire a guide. Your cost would be comparable to renting. I have used Capt. Ron Schurr a couple of times and he always puts us on fish. The reds should be plentiful this time of year. Let me know if you want his details. He has a Facebook page.
I have a 16 ft and allthough I do not fish much around here I would be willing to take you for free, nothing fancy but it is dependable. If you have some time and can drive a couple hours I can really put you on some fish.PM me if this helps.

And if it fits four hefties I can bring the bait and beer!
if you're military, check out NAS Jax and Mayport MWR. Jax had some deck boats that you couldn't take to far (daily rental). but a few years ago, they had some 15 whalers too, with trailers. i rented one for a week and you could take it wherever you wanted. i think the prices went up (pretty sure i paid under $300 for the week), but worth a call. i brought it down to the st augustine area where i was staying and found a campground to store it nightly.
