 Boat Rental in St. Thomas
I just booked a trip down to St. Thomas at the end of October (hopefully after the activity in the tropics dies down a bit) and I'm looking for a boat to rent. I'm taking my girlfriend down there and we're staying over at the Point Pleasant Resort near Red Hook and I plan to take her on a boat ride for the day to Jost Van Dyke and find a secluded area to propose to her.
I've looked at the several boating companies on the island and all of them are in the $300 - 350+ range for a full day, plus gas, so I'm looking at around $500. I know this is reasonable for the Virgin Islands, however, it is not completely reasonable for me on my salary, taking into account the 12 carat ring I just bought her (okay, maybe it's not quite that big).
Does anyone have any recommendations or know anyone who might be able to rent me a boat for the day for a cheaper price? I'm not particular on what type of boat it is and it doesn't need to be an official company... possibly someone who has a boat sitting around down there and might want to rent it out for a day, especially for such a good cause... |
