We arrived Saturday and are leaving late Thursday. One of the 1st things I began to notice was the number of police in this little town, local cops and what seems to be state police. I've seen no less than 6 groups of police on cycles, both BMW's and HD riding in packs of 8-12. Am I missing something? or is their huge crime rate down here? We have been hanging out with 2 other couples, one from Texas and from VA and everyone notice the same thing. Coming back from dinner not too long ago we were passed by 6 police cars, all had lights on.

Maybe its normal here, just seems a little strange

I believe they are/were in town (Key West) for a Ret. Major from the FHP's funeral services .

Yeah, they normally aren't that noticeable. Watch out for the speed trap just west of the Bahia Honda bridge, though!

We saw them everyday there in the morning and afternoon. I must have watch a dozen people get pulled over down by the school.
