Default Boat ramps in Marathon

Hey guys,

we are staying around the 50 mm in Marathon on the ocean side and the info the home owner gave me for the nearest ramp was on the gulf side near the 7 mile bridge area. (app. 20 ride to our canal) Is there not many public ramps in Marathon or are there some private ramps to choose from and pay a fee to get the boat in the water and to our canal?

Thanks in advance, Gary

There is one right on the causeway onto Key Colony Beach. Coming from Marathon go over the Vaca Cut bridge. A little way down turn right on Sadowsky Causeway and the launch is a little way down on the left, right next to the boat rental place. I rent from there and run the boat to the rental house ocean side on Marathon. It's a pretty easy run...

Might want to go to the Keys section of the Florida Sportsman forum, I have no idea where your rental is located but there are some public ramps on the gulf side not far from Vaca Cut.

Your staying right around my house. I always use the 33rd street ramp by the yacht club (Bayside). Its brand new, and going 22 knots it doesn't take that long to get around to me house (Oceanside). Getting into and around the channels to your house from the ocean can be tricky. PM me with the lat/long where you're staying or the exact street address and I'll give you detailled instructions.

Looks like ljk has you covered...Only oceanside ramps that I know of are Harbor Point Marina ($10 in and out), good people but about 20 minutes to ocean through Boot Key Harbor/Sister's Creek, or the prev. mentioned ramp in Key Colony, also $10 in/out.

33rd st ramp is your best choice. Free. It's behind the MCSO substation.
