Live in Islamorada FL, Keys, been here 15 yrs now, moved in just before Andrew hit. It has been a good ride but the poltics have changed and now with the uppie town homes they can't sell we might all going to pay for the mistake in taxes they can't collect. The waters have changed where's the bait. I have a home in GOTO, Japan also (Wifes parents property) on the water and plan on retirement there and hope to take my 24' Speedcraft over there to fish the waters where they are clean and plenty of fish since they farm fish in the area and don't take more than they need. Hope to open a B& B there so people can come over and fish with me there also.
I'm a 50 year old living in the Osteen area of Volusia County. I started boating when we lived on Long Island, and from there, my parents moved to the Keys. When my parents sold the Key Largo place, I was in college, and I virtually stopped boating.
About two years ago I bought a 13' LuCraft, made right here in Ormond Beach in '72, and started boating and fishing again. In January I bought a Robalo '17, which opened up alot more possibilities.
I love this area of Volusia County, especially for Boating. There are three ramps for the St Johns within 5 miles of me, and two bait stores within two. I'm 25 miles from Oak Hill, and it's 35 to the North Causeway ramp in Symrna. What could be better?
Well maybe the Keys..........
Anyway, I love this forum, and have learned a great deal since joining.
Sanford, great little town between Mickey Mouse & Nascar's home.
Anyone know of some good bottom fishing in the intercoastal by Ponce Inlet to take my 10yr old son fishing?
