I am toying with the idea of taking my 24' Sun Runner down to the Pensacola area for a winter season. Would drive the boat down from the Denver area, leave boat trailer and probably Suburban down for the winter. Visit a few times last trip in spring and drive the boat home.

Feasible? What are the storage options in the area (and approximate costs)? How is the boating in the area? I have seen pictures and it looks nice.

I live very close to the Destin area, which is on the coast 45 miles east of Pensacola and 45 miles west of Panama City. Very nice area! A lot of people around here store their boats at one of the Legendary Marine indoor facilities. They will dry store it and fork lift it into the water for you. They are a bit expensive at roughly $12-14 per foot per month. I'm sure you could find other, cheaper options in Destin, Ft. Walton Beach, Navarre, and Pensacola (East to West) on the emerald coast. You may be able to find other information by googling emerald coast marinas.

The weather should stay great until late October. The fishing is great along with the boating. I tell you this, I've been stationed around the world, and I absolutely love this area for the boating.
