Early Nov I was paying $30.00 for a case of Chum that contained 10 boxes for 70 Lbs.
Tourist season Price (today) was $6.00 a box for a 7lb box.
An increase of 100%,
Albeit it is a different brand. Bills not Plantation

We really appreciate tourists in the Keys they are an easy mark!


Any better prices out there? My neighbors and I are willing to make a run if necessary.

My experience is that the brands differ greatly in quality. I like Tournament Master, double and single grind. I get it for $30 a case at Reef Light Tackle.

Prop Blast

Depends on the brand, time of year, and availability. Distribution in the Keys for bait has been a problem I understand for several wholesalers. When the chum is caught also drives the quality. Certain time of the year, the bait fish used are "juicier" than others and that makes for better chum. Not sure how that affects pricing.

Give Capt Marks Chum a try. He uses pure pacific sardine chum which is high in oil. I've used it with good success in the Keys. He will do special pricing and drop ship. Not sure where he's actually located.
