Default Keys Trip Sat.

Heading to the Keys On Sat. Flying out of Newark 6:30AM. We are staying on Long Key at Lime Tree Bay. This trip is a month earlier then usual so Im hoping the wind lay down for atleast a day to get off-shore.
We rented a 23 foot Angler for the week, will do some reef and inshore stuff alot of Tarpon and hope to get outside atleast a day. Im kicking myself for going now instead or holding off till mid May but it will cost us next to nothing.

Have fun. We will be down in June. We stay around MM 77. They were catching Blackfins out on the Humps just several weeks ago...

You wouldnt want to go today though.. 8-10ft in the stream! OUCH.. Speaking of the Bahamas, how's the wahoo fishing over there this time of year? Doesnt it slack off during the summer?

I would be happy getting outside for just a day. The boat we rented is alot lighter then the one we usually get. The last few years we had a Century 2300 from Big Time in Marathon, they were already rented so this was the next best thing I could find. With all the beating Angler has taken on this site about ride quality I guess Ill see first hand.
Making a run out to Cabelas now to pick up a few last minute items.

I think you'll be fine in that Angler. I owned a 19ft Mako for a few years and it did just fine down there. Especially inside the reef. The report is saying 2ft or less so I think you'll do just fine. Some nice fins being caught around this time!!
