Default Miami boat / trailer parking - last week of July

Fellow THT partners, we will be vacationing in Miami from July 25-30th. I am strongly considering bringing the boat. The challengeis that we will be staying in a condo on Brickell, sothere is no place to park the boat and trailer overnight.

Can anyone make any recommendations on a place where I can leave the boat? Not super picky about location, as much as I would be about security. Will likely launch from either Crandon Park or Matheson Hammock, although I can be flexible if a better plan is hatched.

Thanks in advance...

Hey there. Matheson Hammock is my home "port," and I launch there routinely. Additionally, I leave my unattended car & trailer in the marina parking lot for up to a week at a time when I cruise to the bahamas/keys/tortugas etc. I've never had a problem with vandalism or theft in the lot. I do secure the vehicles, don't leave anything in the car, and lock the trailer to the car and attach a "boot" to the trailer. The marina entrance is controlled by security at dusk as well.

If you do go there, and it's on a weekend, definitely try to launch B4 845-9am, and return either early (2-3pm) or later in the day (6-8pm) to avoid the weekend clueless boat-newbies

Good luck!

John

Call the dockmaster at Matheson and get a daily or weekly slip. No problem in summer.

Crandon Park also has transient slips, and they have a fenced in area for boats. I do not know if that is long term. Call them they will inform you. Crandon is closer to Brickell. Good Luck... have a great time.
