1st day of hurricane season 2007, second named storm - The Hull Truth

So Florida is off to a great start! Two named storms, both to impact Florida. One on the east coast (sort of fizzled out but gave us constant 20 - 25 knot winds that were really great for those fires) and now one is going to hit the west coast.

Everyone remember to mail those insurance premiums in early! I think I am going to move to the Colorado Rockies till mid October.

If I get the job I applied for, I will have a place to hang that SHOULD have AC and hot water after a storm

Of course, I will have to live at work. The good thing is I am never late. The bad thing is I am never more than a few hundred feet from work.

This weather is awful.... I've taken the boat out maybe 8 times so far this year.

It's nice to get some rain but c'mon couldn't it happen during the week??

Next week it will be a lot better. Local forecast for the Miami area has seas back to 2 feet or less on Tuesday

What Miami (and most of FL needs) is a people transplant. If I could wave a wand and swap out all the malcontents and transplants here and trade them for real people form another city I would do it. And by "real city" I mean someplace that is not a banana republic. People who are not actually rude and inconsiderate.

I know I know - wishful thinking.

I go to Sanibel Island for a week every year. Have been doing this for over 20 years now. I have seen the changes. I remember when Pine Island was mostly pines. But I will admit - the west coast has done a much better job than the east coast. Over here we allowed development go WAY out of control.

A lot of truth to that, but quit your whining. You don't need to leave Florida, just Dade County. We happen to like it over here in Collier County.

I am stuck in Dade. The drive to and from work will be too far if I move to Naples.

I have lived in Miami all my life. It is, for better or worse, home. Biscayne Bay makes up for the situation on dry land.
