Default Destin Charter Input

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heading to Destin in early June for wife's family reunion and will be there for a week. Would like to get in a day offshore was well as a day in the bay with the relatives.

1. Can anyone recommend a GOOD private 6 pack charter that has some decent bottom numbers, i.e. no tourist trap ****? We would like to do more than troll for kingfish outside the jetties with the other tourist trap charters....preferably some bottom fishing to keep the relatives interested and then perhaps some trolling. We'll be limited to 12 snapper so are hoping for some grouper and AJ in the mix.

2. Bay fishing.....I don't care if we use bait as none of the relatives can fish....so it doesn't have to be...actually it doesn't need to be...an arty only specialist as long as the guide has a reputation for putting clients on fish.

The relatives want to load up and have a big fish fry at the end of the week....and we're looking at 40+ people for the reunion. I've been recently appointed to set it up and make it happen. Any recommendations are much appreciated.

For a good 6 pack/bottom fishing trip book Capt. Stan Phillips on the Sea Winder or Bill Williams on Miss Hazel (850-654-5174). I have fished with both more than once, was good every time. Let them know in advance what species of fish you are interested in and book a trip with enough time to fish for them. If you have a second day to fish, you may want to fish on a party boat ($70 for a 10 hour trip). I always go on the New Florida Girl or The American Spirit (850-837-6422), and usually do quite well.
