I need a recomendaiton for a Yamaha mechanic in the Ft Myers - Estero - Bontia Springs area. The nearby 5-star facility I got off the Yamaha website as twice charged significantly more than I was told or expecting for work. I also have suspicions when a part they worked on breaks after 90-minutes of use.

Yamaha lists Marina Mikes, Ft Myers Marine, and Walkers as service centers. Anyone have direct experience with one of these? Are there any others of which I am not aware?

Since the engines are still under warranty I would prefer to go to a Yamaha mechanic, but I suppose that is not absolutely necessary if others can get parts?

I would take Marina Mikes over Walkers. There is also Walcott in Bonita.

First choice is to call Bonita Bay Boat Club and ask the dock master for the name of the guy that does all their outboard stuff. He inspected a couple of Yammies for me during a survey on an '05 Denali why I did the hull. I was impressed with his skill, knowledge, tools and truck. He didn't toss around BS to look clever. I just cant find his card right now. My office is trashed.

Thanks for the suggestion, but they were not sure who I meant. Since my Yamaha is under warranty I would like to find a factory authorized location. Going to Caloosa Isle Boats for my first service was a very expensive lesson in where NOT to go.

I have it at Marina Mikes now to see if they can fix whatever Caloosa Isle screwed up.

I hear nothing but good reports about fort myers marine from the old timers here. Owner Chuck is a great guy - honest, works hard, helps customers as much as everyone else at his shop. He has master certified yammi guys there...

Heard horror stories about Caloosa Isle too!

don't use boats unlimited or Tad's Marine. They are sloppy, lazy and typical boat mechanics. find a guy that comes to your house.
