I konw this is more of a boating website but the 2 do go hand in hand .. but then again im looking for some good shore diving locations, just looking for something closer to the lauderdale area .. so when im finished up with work i can just jump in and have an intersting dive.. with out going to the marina getting the boat gassin up etc..... anyway let me know... ohhh and also any good recomendations on the inland fresh water diving ...

? Ken, you can hop in the water right at commercial pier (or almost anywhere for that matter) and swim out to the 2nd or 3rd reef... or are you looking for something specific?

nothing specif just something to get out and relax and forget about work for short while ..

Take commercial to the beach and hang a left (north) onto whatever road that is that's closest to the beach. Park in the first parking lot you see - a few blocks north of the pier. Gear up and swim straight out, you'll find pretty good reefs about 1/2 pier length out and then again at about the end of the pier.

Don't forget to take a float (and a buddy). Nothing amazingly spectacular but all and all a good dive, no boat required. Usually easiest to swim under the surface so you aren't fighting waves, but take a visual every so often and/or use a compass to make sure you aren't getting too close to the pier.

cave/spring diving is done interior. very dangerous. obey all the rules or......the worst happens on a regular basis yet people continue.?
