Told you it would be worth it. Glad you all had a good time. Never thought of Thanksgiving dinner on Cabbage Key. Did you navigate back in the dark? If so, you are much, much braver than me. I have tried navigating at night out there a couple of times. The first time I quit about ten minutes out and just went back in because it was too damned dark for me. The second time, I ran aground and had to wait for the tide to come in. Too bad about that north wind. It's not common to have rough seas out there. Sure you all had plenty to do anyway. C'mon back whenever y'all want.

No radar on this boat so I plan around day light only trips. I hope to be back soon, I did leave the boat in storage there to make it easier the next time.

I probably will launch at that ramp just over the bridge to Sanibel, is that a safe parking area ? I read on guy can lock up everything

Nothing wrong with that ramp, but there's another one before the bridge, and if you use that one, you can avoid paying the (IMO) exhorbitant bridge toll, particularly if you're not staying on the island, but just launching a boat.

That was me Kevin.I appreciate your reply. My wife and I rented a house for the 1st 2 wks of December on Fort Myers Beach.2 of my daughters, husbands and 4 grandchildren and boat will be there for the 2 wks.Any information about the area would be great. We have been vacationing in Fort Myers Beach and Marco Island for over 20 years but never with a boat.We retired on the 1st of November and decided we wanted to try staying in South West Florida for the winter. We ended up renting a Condo in Marco for Jan,Feb and March.I have no idea of the restrictions and requirements on boating and fishing in Florida. What the heck is Trackback.
By the way we are from Melrose Massachusetts 15 miles from Boston.I boat and fish out of Boston Harbour.

Not sure if they allow self advertising but since it's related. We have SWFL/Ft Myers Bch rentals with beachfront and/or dockage available. I was born and raised fishing here so i could definitely give some pointers. We have a couple different websights or you can call me direct, my name is Shipley. (239)8233994
