Random Quote: A fisherman lives here... with the greatest catch of his life.
3/2 on No Name Key. 8 acres on the open water. 200 foot open water dock. 1000 footbridge over tidal area. Private gated drive. No neighbors. Off the grid home with solar/batteries/ generator. Cistern, etc. Self sufficient and no utility bills.
I'm the owner. You don't own the whole island. I own eight acres. Entry is from state road 4. The first left after going over the Bridge. There is a gate and an easement for a road that is about a quarter mile in length. No name is connected to Big pine via bridge.
So you go down Spanish Channel to Marg. Looks like your property is on the pond? Do you have access to Florida Bay side? Water depth? Can you get flood insurance? Are you off the grid by choice? Looks like a couple of streets on No-Name and running the utility lines under that bridge from BPK would not be too hard.
Property is on the open water witha pier dock out to 4 foot control depth. I have flood insurance, but the house is on stilts so it is not really necessary. The entire island is off the grid. There have been a few lawsuits in the past trying to force FPL to power the island, but they have been fought by the granola lovers on the island. I can run the house off the batteries/panels for 5 days without running the generator. Perfect for us as we are usually only down on weekends.
I will do some digging on the power issue. Longer term (7-10 years) we plan to be in the Keys (if they are still there). Are you an inshore fisherman or offshore? I do lots of fly fishing but like lighter offshore (mahi, tuna, sails etc.). Ronin is one of my favorite movies.
I mainly fish offshore in the keys although we also reef fish. I usually am too lazy to seriously fish so I end up lobstering off the dock or going to the beach with the kids
Awesome place!!
I just stayed there for a few days and all I can say is WOW!!
If you're looking for privacy this is the place.
And you're still only a 10 minute drive to all amenities.
The meteor shower last night was amazing. Even with the full moon.
Thanks Ronin1, I hope to get back there soon.
My wife and I have no kids so we like isolation and when I showed her this she flipped. We have always dreamed of a place like this. Isolation, quiet, self sufficient. Her offer to you is 200k, 3 cats, sears riding lawnmower, and a livin mother in law........Deal?
