I am selling a mint 2001 200HP Johnson Oceanrunner (25" shaft) with approximately 30 hours on it. Engine is currently mounted on 24' Hydra Sports center console. Engine was in dry dock for two years but maintenanced during that period. Brand new water pump and head gaskets installed by authorized dealer...compression is between 115-122lbs in the cylinders........Test drive available if desired....looking to buy a larger engine.

Suggest that you include pictures, report carefully on service record on engine, plus reduce price.
You'll probably get a lot more interest in this engine. Just a suggestion based on experience.
You may have a great egine there - so the more you show and tell, the easier to sell .

Not trying to mess with you at all, but did it ever get a new powerhead or not ?

No. It did not need a new powerhead...engine is in mint condition as validated by an authorized Hydra sport and OMC (Bombardier) dealer.

How's the engine running , including :

1. shifting from forward, to neutral, to reverse - is it stalling ?
2. What top rpms are you getting
3. what's the serial # of the engine
4. where is it located, and is it avail for test drive ?

1) Engine runs like new...just broken in...

2) I would say i get about 5800RPM's and go about 40+ MPH (38Knots)

can you give me more history on the engine... 2001 stored for 2 yrs, used ~ 1 season?, new head gasket, Why?

I bought the boat and engine this past July from the original owner with the intent of buying a larger engine for it.....during the 4 year period, he only used it for 2 years with his grandchildren and then kept it in dry dock for approx 2 years........he put approx 25 hours on it. I used it for the balance of this summer and put approx 8 - 10 hours on it.

The reason for the new head gaskets is due to the engine occassionally stalling out when shifting from forward to reverse. The dealer told me that there was a slight tear in one of the head gaskets so they replaced both of them. The engine runs excellent and your welcome to try it out on my boat in the ocean.
