Default Trailer recommendations for Seahunt 212?

I got a quote today for a new sea hunt 212 w/ T-top and F150. The shocking part was the inclusion of a 4.600 lb Shoreland'r tandem axel galvanized trailer, drum brakes, for $4,200! This seems like overkill for a 3,500 lb 21' cc boat (with motor, gear, 80 gallons of gas.....) I plan on towing it 30 miles each way on a level highway, about 6 times per year, a couple trips per year of 100 miles each way and a bunch of 1/2 mile trips to the ramp with my 6 cylander 4-Runner ( 5,000 lb towing rating). What trailers are you guys using for similar boats? How much are they worth? Can I get a good, safe trailer for about $2,500? Do I need tandem axel? Where is the best place to by trailers in the Mass, NH, RI area? Thanks for your help?

Ed

Hi Ed,

look at Trading post. I am selling REAL trailer, 2004 Loadmaster 8600Lb with "Kodiak" disk brakes on all wheels, torsion axles, posi-lube hubs, spare wheel, guides, and it's practically new. All for $3250.
And yes, you can have it delivered right to your doorsteps.

Good luck.

Hi Scott. That looks like a good rig, well priced. I am going. I am not going to buy a boat soon. I got major sticker shock when I saw what the new boat would cost me. Anyway, the responsible thing would be to sell my other boats first, then look seriously. If your traiiler is available then, I will certainly look into it. Ideally I would like to buy a slightly used boat . Good luck with the sale. Ed
