Those were great Loran's, unfortunately the Loran system was decommissioned earlier this year (towers no longer broadcast). Really sucks because I still have books of loran numbers that were given to me by a retired commercial captain, that I never had the chance to visit and save in my GPS. The conversions in most GPS's aren't very accurate.

Your point in pooping on this man's ad is correct. But loran is still going strong in other parts of the world and guess what, the www (world wide web) is in fact...world wide.

Perhaps his post would be better viewed as a friendly heads up for less knowledgeable people in THIS part of the world. To be honest, I would have posted something similar,but he beat me to it.

Well then I guess they need to know that on their own. In this part of the world loran is not working and that is good information.
