I thought I would post a link to my ebay auction for this watch. This is more of a Collector watch. Its a 1969 GMT Master in EXTRA fine condition. No yellow face etc. Very very nice. If you a rolly collector, this is a rare find.
No offense, but a "rolly collector" would not have much interest in a '69 watch with an '80's band.
Good looking watch none-the-less. I've got the new GMT-IIc and LOVE it!
Good luck with the sale!

The band is of little consequence on a watch like this. It is extremely rare, and in superb condition. You would be very suprised I think in the interest in this watch. I do appreciate you crapping on my thread in traditional THT style though. No offense.

That is a very nice piece and very hard to find. You are correct, the band not of the same era is of little concern to most collectors. If you have a current appraisal you should list it with the post, should help folks understand what they are looking at.. Good luck with the sale.

Doughnut is absolutely right, nobody cares about the band in this case....not with a watch like this. I have owned sold and traded many Double Red subs, old GMT's, Pepsi tops, bubblebacks, orange hand explorers....it aint keeping a true collector from buying it.
I have a couple of submariners. The gold and the gold/stainless. I love 'em.
I, in no way, consider myself a collector or particularly knowledgeable.
But I will say that if you are going to sell a watch and call it a '69 you are being somewhat disengenuous if you do not also say that the band doesn't match and is in fact from the '80's.
I just appreciate truth in advertising.

Again, thank you for crapping on my thread. However Cptn. Obvious, had you clicked on the link you would have seen this.
You are bidding on a 1969 Rolex GMT Master Superlative Chronometer. Serial prefix is 288. This gorgeous and nostalgic collectible wristwatch was recently rated "Extra Fine" in an Estate appraisal. The watch was Re-certified by Rolex, Dallas, and is unworn since then. There are no scratches on the crystal. (That is dust in the pics) The watch is on a Mid-80's genuine Rolex Oyster Band. This is an opportunity to own a Classic Rolex in incredible condition. Please contact me with ANY and ALL questions. Thanks for looking!
The Watch is indeed a 1969 as evidenced bt the serial prefix, the band is a mid eighties band as evidenced by the stamps and markings. Please demonstrate where I am "disingenuous"
Why is it so important for folks to smack talk about other members here? You called me a liar Senor, and clearly didnt look at the link. Whos disingenuous? Goodness its a tough crowd here at THT.

We're not all here to click on links,,,, we read a post and he just happened to be a knowledgeable enough reader to see the different era band,,,, and call you on it, all you have to do is say "oh left that part out, but it's in the link," and we could go on with the posting.... I'll forward this to my uncle and see if he's interested,,,,,, hope you're wearing boots so the "crap" doesn't get on you!
The green foam in the box doesn't look like authentic Rolex foam....perhaps you might want to include a certification from - WWW.FOAMREALSTUFF.COM so any potential buyers get the real deal...sheesh...
