This is the perfect solution to my garage clutter problem.
Thank you,

Thanks, Bob

Hi Big Trouble, Thanks for the rod holder idea. I just went and bought pvc and T's to make me a rodholder. I spent 53 dollars to have enough material to make one big enough to hold 16 rods. that price included buying the glue and a pvc cutter. i could have used a saw but I'd rather have nicer cut. Take out the glue and cutter and i have less than 35 bucks in the PVC. Thanks again John

Perfect easy project for this weekend. Did you both use 1.5 inch PVC? I'm thinking there may be no need to glue the ends/corners. That way, you could take it apart if needed, or expand with more joints without cutting and cementing.

yes 1.5 pvc.. mine is all glued..might be ok with lighter setups not to glue but I have 50's and 130's on mine so had to be glued.

Yes i used 1.5 pvc also. I glued all but one end so i could expand. The end you see loose in pic is the one not glued. Again Thanks Bigtrouble for giving us the idea.
Don't use anything smaller than 1.5 inch if you have any bigger rods.

Default PVC Rod Holder Info

If you look at both rod holders in the photos you will see different fittings used. In the first picture the fittings are DWV which is a bit cheaper but the tee is offset where as in the later picture the fittings are Schedule 40 which are used in swimming pools. The tee's are equal and straight. Probably easier to keep all spaces equal but these fittings are a bit more expensive. Not alot though. The Schedule 40 tees from Home Depot are 1.56 each and elbows are probably around a dollar. The 8' lengths of PVC are under 3.00 each. I bought enough stuff to build a 24 rod holder for about 90.00. That's including a quart of glue. I will also post a picture once I get a couple of spare hours to build it. I think I might even build a smaller version for my truck. I bought one off of Ebay but don't know how to attach it in my truck. Also a PVC unit would be removable.

I had to go get one more piece of PVC to finish. Final cost to hold 15 rods was 41 dollars.Coco hit nail on head T's were 1.56 cent and used 17 of them ,4 elbows and 2 10 ft sections of 1.5 in PVC and a 2 ft section i went and bought later. John Cranford
