I bought a blue flying fish from Tim a few weeks ago. Sunday was my first chance to try it out. We fished out of Stuart inlet and caught about 12 blackfin tuna. Tim's flying fish was the first lure hit. We caught more tuna on the flying fish than any of the other lures which included small plastic squid and feathers.

Thanks Tim

I've done really well with them on Mahi off of the NC outer banks as well.....I think the thread that Tim linked above has some of my comments. The paint on them is pretty durable. Any painted surface always has the potential to scratch, but they are also clear coated and have held up well for me. I'm also fond of the double hooks that Tim is using...easy on/easy off if you want to re-rig them to use as teasers or birds.

Tim, here is the pic of one of those Blackfins Mark caught he had me throwing them in the box. It was the Blue lure in the pic above that was producing.

Thanks Nick.

miamizx,

Were were using the Blue/White...ran it on a flat line about 75 ft. behind the boat in the wash. We had some other lures running on the riggers about another 50ft back.

I spoke to Mark last night and like he said the Tuna came through the other lures or spread to hit that one in the middle. It was the Blue/white fishnutz he really liked the action of the lure and the way it tracked and so did the tuna. Before using it Mark and Nick kinda laughed at it first. But they stuck it on and Mark said that it was no time at all that lure was the first one down and down and down again. We talked about how it held up,he said it looked as good as new that double hook did it. He did have one complaint that its hard to fit in his tackle carrying set up.

Thumbs up Flying Fish ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++

Tim, we went deep dropping this morning got some tiles, then to the hill for a nice Snowy Grouper, then I set all the lures out to troll the green one you sent me with the dorado chain is the one it got hit 3 times within 10 minuets, producing 3 Blackfins, for some reason they left the blue one alone today I was running a Bonito strip on the end of the green one. Thanks Again Nautidiver.

I was talking to another member Saturday about his trip out of NC the other day and he was about 20 miles out pulling pirate plugs and cigar minnows anyhow he started to see flying fish in the area so he and his green crew added the flying fish on top he said with in 10 min his crew had a Mahi hooked that jumped and came unbuttoned went right back at it rod down it was hit again with the same affect. So he started fishing but their was no more hook ups other than there king and AJ's
