Default 1996 Mercury Black Max 200 Pair 180 hours

I would like to re-power my Ranger with 225 Optis. These Black Maxes have ~180 hours on them, run great, on my 25' Ranger I cruise at 30kts at 4000RPMs and get about 1.5MPG with a top end somewhere around 46kts, achieved with 1/2 tank gas (100g) and 7 girls in bikinis this summer, so your results may vary. When I got the boat they had 140 hours on them and supposedly one had a brand new powerhead as the oil pump failed and kablam, so I mix the oil and gas in the tank so nothing can fail. Very quiet for 2 strokes, can be water tested on my Ranger with deposit.

$5500 with SS props and no controls or make an offer.

Now have 230 hours, average 1.7MPG, burned 130 gallons on a 200 mile roundtrip stream trip a little while ago with 5 guys, 200 gallons of fuel, 200lbs of ice in the boat. (2200lbs + gear & beer). Also when looking over them the other day I realized they both have 2002 200 EFI powerheads, so these powerheads have about 130 hours on them.

So the cowlings are from '96 carbed motors but the PH's are 2002 EFI's - niether are oil injected - is one counter rotating ??

Did I get this correct ?

Did you say they are fuel injected? How are they at trolling or idle speed? I have an older pair that run great top end but hate to idle and constantly load up and cut off.

Won't serparate as they are sitting on the back of the boat right now. Can't use it with just one engine.

They are carbed, but I spend a lot of my time slow trolling and rarely do they load up at idle. I always make sure to clean them out the last mile or so on the way in. Coming in the jetties at 50+mph never gets old to me!

You should advertise these over at scream and fly. These are choice motors for hauling ass. They are great motors for somebody who needs lightweight twins. Somebody will but them eventually.
