DELETE.......Pompanette 80 lb. Fighting Chair
I have an 80 lb. class Pompanette fighting chair, which was included in my purchase of a used 30' custom Blackwatch a number of years ago. I believe that it is a SF-80 model, since discontinued. It is very similar to the current featherweight 80 lb. fiberglass seat chair, which sells for over $6000 with the cushions.
I think that the chair was made in 1992. It was used lightly until 1998, when it came off my boat.
It's in excellent condition for the most part. If you wanted to make it mint, the wood should be stripped and revarnished. The seat has a couple of very minor spyder cracks. The seat would be like new with an Awlgrip paint job. The stainless can be brought back to new with some polishing and elbow grease. The seat comes with a 14" aluminum ball bearing pedestal. Also included are mint condition cushions.
The only issue is that the cast spyder on the bottom of the chair is broken, and needs to be replaced. This is about a $250 part from Pompanette, though there are other options.
So, it's in very good shape. With a quick replacement of the spyder, it could be used right away, and would look fine. Over the winter, or a few weeks, it could easily be made perfect with some simple work. Top quality small chair with a lot of applications.
The chair in perfect condition would be worth at least $2000. I think that in it's current condition, with a functional spyder, it would be worth at least $1500.
I'd like to sell it quickly at $1000.
The chair is in Marblehead, MA. My best guess on packing and shipping is about $100. That can be firmed up if it can't be picked up. Buyer pays for any shipping and packing.
I can email more pictures, as well. Thanks.
