Default Icom M502 problems

Last summer my Icom M502 VHF stopped transmitting over any distance greater than 100 yards. It was still under warranty so Icom had me ship it out to their service facility, where they fixed it and sent it back. The whole process took about a month. The radio's on the fritz again -- doing the same thing as last summer, and since it's still under warranty Icom wants me to take it off the boat, send it back and wait while they fix it.

Just curious if anyone else has had this same transmission problem with the M502.

Kinda ticks me off

I have had a 502 for 5 years and no problems. If it were on low power it certainly would transmit much farther than a 100 yards.

Thanks jy118.

I spent the afternoon screwing around with the damn thing assuming I'd done something, but NO... just a crap radio. They won't swap, and I told Icom I don't want another 502, so... $220 down drain.
