02 Ford Excursion Diesel 7.3L with 100K miles (Trade?)
It's the 4x4 Limited Excursion (loaded out) with the tried and true 7.3L. Tires have less than 10K miles on them. I have all service info. Has the rear DVD system, 4 WD, all leather, heated seats, trailer tow mirrorsetc, etc. It has a couple small dings in the rear bumper from bumping the trailer and a slight tear in the driver's seat leather (I have pics, if needed). I could probably take it to a upholstery shop and get that fixed pretty easily. Shoot me an email at stenzelk@gmail.com for more info or pics.
I just cleared 100K miles on it in early July.
I'd be willing to trade the Excursion for a high miles quad cab V8 or diesel pick up and cash. I ust need a truck as a 3rd vehicle to do Home Depot type runs and to tow a 6000 lb boat/trailer from my storage facility about 1 mile to the ramp - I hate to keep this nice Excursion as a 3rd vehicle to do that. I'd rather trade down and get this in the hands of someone that needs the towing capacity, seating capacity and the longevity of it.

what are you expectations straight up with cash?
I'm thinking $18,500.
NADA trade in value shows $19,200, but I know the market is slow for bigger SUVs (although I've been told that the Excursions with the 7.3L are still somewhat sought after).

I had one that was pretty much identical...got 17 all around MPG, 21 on the highway at 70 MPH...wish I still had it since my 08 dually F450 only gets 13 all around and 12 on the highway (4.30 gears really kill the cruise economy). One thing to check for prospective buyers is the tranny...it's the weak point with the old 7.3s. The good news is it's easy to prevent tranny failures and rebuilds are not too expensive. Good luck selling it.

I get about 1 mpg less than what you state. I've been good about changing out the tranny filter (along with all other scheduled maintenance). I'd welcome anyone interested to have the tranny and engine checked out. I would expect nothing less.
I don't think it's just the F450's that are not getting the good mileage. My dad has an 08 F250 diesel and his mileage is just over 13, as well. I've driven it a couple times and it's sweet, but that mileage is putrid with the new emission standard engines.

I think that's the last year of the 7.3PSD, so all kinks (there weren't that many to start with) will have been worked out. My '00 model gets the same MPG as you do and pulls the boat off the ramp in idle. 500ft/lbs of torque and a bullet-proof motor. Wish I could get out of mine and move up into yours, but at this price I think you'll sell quickly! good luck!

The last year of the 7.3's was 2003. In 2003 they made the 7.3L and also the 6.0L. I've got a 20037.3L F-250and I love it....never had any problems out of it and I've got 208k miles on it now.
