They will be slimmer in design and sell for 150.00 each or 125.00 each for two or more. I can make the power exit the back of the unit to straight through the transom or out the top to be run up the transom.

Smitty777........No word on the exact price for the different colors yet but I can tell you that the cost per LED unit is huge, over 100.00 more per unit and I think there is a seperate power supply that is needed, thats what I'm waiting to hear about.
I can build whatever you want...however I am trying to stick to one type of case to keep production smooth, but I will make whatever you want. But its common for them to be mounted on the transom, look at any of the other lights on the market, they are all on the transom and out of the water while on plane.
This is getting bigger so its time for a disclaimer. I am just a small guy building these lights in his garage and any transaction should be treated that way. However...I am a man of my word and I will do my best to get you a good product and stand behind it. I will not sell you anything I wouldn't put on my own boat. But from a legal standpoint I can not be responsible for any damage to your boat or injury or death to you or your passengers including temporary blindness from looking into these lights to long.

Just a thought for getting color out of these lights cheaper than buying colored lights. I don't know if it will work with the LED, but have you tried putting a tinted colored glass / plastic over the opening instead of clear? That seems like it would be an easy and cheap way to produce any color you want. A green cover would admit a green light...correct?
I.e. put a green lens over the housing, when the lights are illuminated the output after going through the lens would be green. Does this seem logical?

I was already thinking that, I am going to pick up some colored samples to experiment with.

These names are not in order though it doesn't matter because I will be building them simultaneously and should have them done by the end of next week. And they will look much nicer than my first one. They will have beveled and polished edges and be slimmer.
propbender....the wires will be around 4' unless otherwise requested. The wire will be marine grade with no tupe of connection. You will just have to use butt connectors.
Good question on sealing the wire coming out of the top. Its kinda hard to explain but let me try. On the units with the wire coming out the top there will be two back panels sandwiched together. The wire will come out of the back like usual and then run up in a routed groove. The the second back plate will sandwich the wire with an identical groove. Marine sealant will seal where the wire comes out of the back and then the acrylic solvent will bond the two pieces together sealing the unit. I hope you got that.
Chris, I really want two colored ones, but if you see that you can only produce white ones, than I will take those, so just put me on standby to see how the colored ones work out (would prefer blue) for two if that is possible. Let me know, Thanks.
raunchieconch20.....I am going to pick up some clear blue and clear green plexi to see how it looks with the white light shining through. I'll keep you posted.
Spreader Lights.......
Once I get these underwater light orders out I am going to be making spreader lights using two of these same LED units. They will be nice and small and bright and of course use a lot less power than the halogens.
Nice job, looks like a great product. I would like to get three of them please (wire out the top). Do you have any ideahow the brightness of these would compare towhatts (100W, 200W) or maybe candle power? Just trying to figure out out how to compare them to other lights to get an idea just how bright they are (the picturelooks very bright).
seacapt...The way they are measured in brightness is by lumens, but figuring out how bright a lumen is is confusing. You can google it to see if you can figure it out. However......I would have to say that this light is easily brighter than say a 50W halogen bulb. Also.....the color of the light which is measured in kelvins plays a big part. The higher the kelvin the more blue there is in the light which makes it more crisp and that in itself makes it look brighter. You average halogen bulb is probably around 4000 to 5000 kelvin, these LEDs are 7000 kelvin. When you put this LED next to a standard buld it makes the standard bulb look piss yellow.
One of these provides a lot of light, 2 or 3 on a transom will be insane. Especially considering what they cost.
