What hell chris, go ahead and mark me for three instead of two. I just got a 20 shamrock, they should look crazy considering there isn't an ouboard to block it>

One of these provides a lot of light, 2 or 3 on a transom will be insane.

thats what i am hoping for..

I will be awaiting the reports on these. I can see 2 of these in my future. If you keep this up, it is going to make a pair of new 300 Etecs that much cheaper for you.

Wow....just came in to take a break. I'm building these things as we type. If I could only find a way to peel the protective paper off all the little parts it would go much faster. Maybe I should grab one of those bums off the corner with the "will work for food signs" to do it.

I guess I am going to have to place yet another order for LEDs, had I known it was going to go like this I would have ordered like 200 right at first. That company loves me right now, I already spent 2 grand with them. The plastics supplier is going to like me tomorrow.

OK........

mahimaster1...you are down for three, and yes, that will be a bright patch of water behind your Shammy. And when everyone at the marina asks you where you got those lights you know what to say.

benncsu....You would connect this just as you would connect a stern light or spreader light. Just wire it to an accesory switch on your dash. Or you could just rig up some alligator clips and connect it right to your battery.

ctoolman.......it will be very bright....and less than a grand.

Dusky256......sorry, these won't work on any boats with 4 strokes! Just kidding.

Chris,

I'd like two with the wires coming out the top. If you could also make those wires longer, say, 8 feet, that would be great. Also, I have a bracket like yours and was wondering where two would mount. Your photo shows one centered between the motors. Where do you think would be the best place for the second?

BigBone......if you have twin engines then its a tough call. But if you want to go with 2 then instead of in between the engines maybe one just over each trim tab?

I would like to see a picture of how they light up the water at night. If anyone installs and takes a shot, that would be great. Great to see this take off - I want to use to attract bait while night fishing. Good luck...

These are the original lights, however the water was murky from the tide going down. If the weather is nice I am going to go fishing Friday night....I'll bring the camera.

Hammer....the light is about 4" below the surface on my boat. I put in on the bracket between the engines instead of on the transom under the bracket so I can clean it without swimming, my boat is in the water year round. I think it would look better if it were deeper.

Yazoo.......one with wire out the top.

krisis7........check, I'll keep you posted as well as those others that wanted blue or green.

Chris, put me down for two with the wire out the top.I already have holes in my transon to feed a ducer and tabs which will not be a problem to open the hole up again. My plans are to wedge them on the backside somewhat to put more light downward.I will mount them on the transom which has some angle, but a little more can't hurt.

Chris,if and when you are ready to send my set, could you also send a couple small extra pieces of what you are making it out of.I can then put a belt sander to make the wedges out of it.I will pay you for the extra. If not,no big deal.I can always make it out of starboard.

prokvoan....I already have you down for 2 but with the wire out the back, I will change it to wires out the top.

Ok folks, this is the cutoff for the first batch and I should have them shipped out by Monday or Tuesday. I will send out PMs with the payment info and you can return with your shipping info. You can send me a check or a Pay Pal payment. I'll start sending the PM tomorrow (Friday).

If you want lights but didn't make the first cut, not to worry. Just let me know and I will put you down for the next batch, but they won't go out until after Christmas.

Thanks Chris.I was showing the wife how the lights work and she knew that I wanted to install a few.Well the best part was she knew what other lights cost and stated that this was a power buy. Thanks again.

Ok I have questions. They are 12v right? How long are the wires to connect them with? How would I get one to stick to my painted aluminim bracket??? How long will they last in their lifetime?? They are verry cool and a whole lot better deal than those $1000 light sets even if they are less light. Thanks

I'll figure it out. From your pix it seems like a lot of the light is reflecting off of your lower units. Would it make any sense to make the backing plate more of a wedge shape to gain more down angle?

Don't laugh, but I plan to mount mine with 3M Dual Loc, perhaps with a wedge.
