Chris if I may add.....

I bought the Gen. 1 lights and now have upgraded to Chris's Gen. II, ( now that he's gotten big time with his new site and all)

What I have done on both the Gen. I and II's is mounted them on a piece of teak the same size as the light's frame. But I cut it on a 15 to 20 degree wedge so that when I mount the wood to the transome (light to wood and wood to transome with 5200), the lights will be pointed slightly down word. I'm up here in VA., and fish the Chesapeake almost exclusively, and even with both modles I never had ANY problems with the light blinding anyone (other then the bait fish) with them coming out of the water. I have mine as deep as they can go,,,, which is only about 4" on my boat. I swiched to the double square "Green" lights and absalutely love them. Looking forward to using them at night for this year's Striper Season. If anyone would like pics on the way I mounted both my Gen. 1 and 2 lights just shoot me an email and I can send pics. I've had these on now about 12 months and well over 100 fishing trips...... love them!!!!!! I will be going back to Chris for some interior lighting soon.... Christmas gift to MYSELF!!!!!
Dyllan-
How are these working for you in the the muddy bay water we have? I was about to pull the trigger for a set while in FL but now that I am up here I am not sure sure they would be worth it.

I love them.... At night and with the way I placed them on my transom, the double stacked greens light up very well. Put it to ya this way.... at the Ches. bridge, with my boat 20' off the pillon and between two sets of them,,,,, these lights will light up BOTH pillons. I love them,, absalutly love them...

I was thinking of buying a pair to rig for flounder gigging.

They seem to look a lot brighter than my standard 200 watt 120v bulbs. Does anyone know how long two would work running off of one seperate marine battery before they drew the battery down to where it was not effective?

It would be nice to gig without worrying about a generator to power the lights.

I posted my actual measurements early in one of these threads, but if I recall correct each "double" light used about 1 amp. So figure a constant 2 amp drain - you should be more than fine for an overnighter.

Chris,

Do you also make these for installation on concrete docks?

Default Blue LED Strip Lights

I have not made it to the underwater lights yet (Father's day!), but I did pick up the LED strip lights from Coastal Night Lights and added a Tigress Blue LED to my top. Check out the pics:

If you are gigging in nc, stick with the generator and 200 watt clear bulbs. I just cant see these leds putting out more light than 2/ 200 watt bulbs.

Anyone still following this thread. I just found it and its interesting. Although for the $150 the company where he purchased the LED from sells an underwater light in stainless steel housing for $150 and the Lums are brighter.

I am super interested. This thread is a couple years old though. How have they held up over the years? LED technology has come down in price. These still at the same price point?
