Looking to replace my dash and gauges this winter. Have seen the Faria tach with system check that takes the plug from my 1997 Johnson Oceanrunner to read out all the warnings sent from the engine. I noticed one ebay ad saying the tach was set up for "10/12 pole outboards." Can someone explain what that means. I thought any tach with a system check plug was a plug and play replacement for my oem tach--am I missing something here?

I have a RayMarine 6100 (if I remember correctly) auto pilot. Lately it has been flashing a No Data message... I thought it may have been due to low voltage so replaced all the batteries. Still get the message.

The message starts occuring after hittting the fishing grounds... out of SouthPort NC you head out to sea due (generally) south and fish a west/east pattern. I finally realized the message occurs only when navigating to the east... what do you think is causing this??? Bad flux gate compass?

Hi All,

I have just purchased a new 2008 32ZF donzi which is being shipped to Australia.

I need to fit it out with some electronics gear, however with all the different options on the market I am not sure which way to go.

Here is what I have so far:

Northstar M121: These are no longer available in Aus, my understanding is that Northstar have gone bust?

Simrad NX45: This appears to be exactly the same as the M121 and perfect for what we want.
What is required to connect the Smartcraft info from the Verado's?
What are they like as a sounder and GPS?
How do the sonar transducers go with the stepped hull of the Donzi?

Raymarine C120: The other option I am looking at they are however a lot more expensive than the Simrad.

What are peoples thoughts on the above options?

Cheers

I have had the XM weather feature on my Garmin since I have owned it. About a month ago the onscrean timer in the lower left corner stopped counting down. When I am looking at the weather overlayed on the map it shows how many minutes ago the radar image was taken. It would count down from 30 minutes ago. It no long displays any increments of time. Did I some how turn off this feature?? I emaild Garmin and they said I must have trned off the Animation. Checked that this weekend it was on... The said the next step is a hard reset..... lose all of my GPS.. Any one else have the same issue??
